Before joining Volunteer Centre Southwark as the good practice worker for small, informal and volunteer-led groups, I worked as the Peer Support Coordinator at a local Mind association, training and support volunteers with personal experience of mental health difficulties to run groups and drop-in sessions for mental health service users. I have been a volunteer since 2001 on a helpline and currently as a counsellor. I also Chair the Birkbeck Counselling Association, which is a volunteer-led group.
