Hand in hand with London’s Volunteer Management Charter is our Volunteer Management Health Check.

- It’s a questionnaire that identifies the activities and actions that constitute the key areas of volunteer management.
- It was compiled as a result of research and consultation with London’s Volunteer Centres.
- It comes in different sizes! There’s a comprehensive version, as well as shorter versions, so it can be used flexibly and according to need.
- It will give you lots of ideas about volunteer management – maybe things you haven’t thought about if you’ve only just begun to involve volunteers.
- It will tell you the essentials you should have in place.
- It will help identify areas you could improve on, using a simple action plan to signpost you to solutions.
- If you hope one day to achieve the Investing in Volunteers quality standard, the Health Check will get your organisation thinking and working in the right direction.
- It will signal to your volunteers, colleagues, funders and stakeholders that you are serious about implementing good practice.
- Volunteer involving organisations in London who have signed up to the Charter have access to one of the Experts in - Volunteering team to take them through the Health Check.
- Signing up to the Charter and completing a Health Check is completely free.
- A test that you pass or fail.
- A fully assessed and accredited quality standard (which can involve a complex and expensive process).
